Human Rights

Human Rights are the fundamental rights and freedoms that every human being is entitled to, simply by virtue of being human. These rights are universal, inalienable, and apply to every individual regardless of nationality, caste, gender, religion, or economic status.
Human rights form the foundation of social justice, social work, and democratic governance worldwide.
Types of Human Rights
- Civil & Political Rights – Right to life, freedom of speech, equality before law, and right to vote
- Economic Rights – Right to work, fair wages, and an adequate standard of living
- Social & Cultural Rights – Right to education, healthcare, and participation in cultural life
- Women's Rights – Protection from discrimination, violence, and access to equal opportunities
- Child Rights – Right to education, safety, nutrition, and protection from exploitation
Human Rights in India
India's Constitution guarantees fundamental human rights to all citizens, including:
- Right to Equality (Article 14)
- Right to Freedom (Article 19)
- Right against Exploitation (Article 23–24)
- Right to Education (Article 21A)
- Right to Constitutional Remedies (Article 32)
India is also a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the United Nations in 1948.
