Hyderabad is the capital city of the Indian state of Telangana and one of the largest metropolitan areas in India. Located on the banks of the Musi River in the Deccan Plateau region, Hyderabad is a major centre of administration, commerce, education, technology, culture, and healthcare.

Founded in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, the city developed as an important political and cultural centre in southern India. Hyderabad later became the capital of the princely State of Hyderabad under the Nizams and played a significant role in the history of the Deccan region.

The city is renowned for its architectural landmarks, including the Charminar, Golconda Fort, Chowmahalla Palace, and Mecca Masjid. Hyderabad is also known for its rich cultural heritage, which reflects a blend of Telugu, Deccani, Persian, and Islamic influences.

Areas such as HITEC City and Gachibowli host numerous technology companies, research institutions, and business centres. The city is also recognized for its contributions to pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, manufacturing, and higher education.

Telugu and Urdu are widely spoken in the city, while English is commonly used in business and education. Hyderabad is famous for its cuisine, particularly Hyderabadi biryani, which has gained international recognition.
