He is the founder of JSM Human Network Trust (Jagannatha Shankar Mallanna Human Network), an organization dedicated to social service, community welfare, health awareness, and support for the underprivileged. He is recognized for his contributions to grassroots political activism, the Telangana statehood movement, and social service across his region.

Early Life and Background

Bingi Manoj Kumar was born on 6 June 1983 in Kodimial, then part of old Karimnagar district and now under Jagitial district, Telangana, India. He was born to Gangeshwar and Bhavani, and is the second of three brothers, the others being Mahesh and Ganesh.

He grew up in a family that faced financial hardship. His father worked away from home, and his mother Bhavani was a hardworking woman who held the family together through difficult times. From a young age, Manoj Kumar took on responsibilities to support his family.

Education

Bingi Manoj Kumar completed his schooling and intermediate education at government institutions in Kodimial. He subsequently enrolled in SRR College for a BA in Political Science in Karimnagar and at NSVB College for a B.Com (General) course in Jagitial. He also completed a Certificate in Journalism. His education was pursued alongside personal and financial challenges from a young age.

Career and Early Life Journey

After completing his schooling, Bingi Manoj Kumar worked in various occupations to support himself and his family. He ran a pan shop, worked at a cloth showroom in Korutla, and later worked in decoration and dress tailoring as a Gumasta in Kodimial. He also pursued dance training in Karimnagar and participated in dance programmes on television channels, reflecting his diverse range of early experiences.

Political and Social Activism

Manoj Kumar entered the sphere of student politics through the National Students Union of India (NSUI), rising through the ranks from Town President to District General Secretary and Parliament Incharge. On 28 January 2010, he was elected as the NSUI District President of Karimnagar, the first instance of an election-based system being implemented within student organizations in the district — a landmark in student democratic processes.

During the Telangana statehood movement, he was an active supporter of the cause and was arrested on multiple occasions while agitating for a separate Telangana state. In 2012, he was elected as the General Secretary of the Youth Congress in the region.

He contested the Sarpanch election from his native village in the general category in 2013, 2019, and 2025, advocating for the rights of the BC (Backward Class) community, which had historically been underrepresented in local governance in his village.
